New blog!

I’ve decided to set up camp at a new blog. Please visit at and leave me some feedback on what you think. Oh and if you have bloglovin’ a follow on there wouldn’t go amiss 🙂

Thanks for reading this guys, in all honesty I’m not going to get rid of it as I think in time I might keep both – Spero Rose for all my vintage/fashion posts and this one for more general stuff. But for now, please head over there to see what I’m up to.

Quotes 27.

Reporter to reporter 2 about to throw something at her: If you touch me I will cry rape.

Editor commenting on another editor’s baggy trousers: I could clothe a Ugandan village with all that extra material.

Editor: How can you be Italian, you don’t even eat pasta?

Editor talking to giggling reporters: It’s like it’s wet playtime at school and you’re trying to teach but everyone’s too excited because they’ve been inside all day.

Reporter: That’s cause you’re a spastic.
Editor: You can’t call them that anymore, you have to call them scopes.

Editor talking about the general strike: Can you imagine if we stroked?

Editor talking to other editor who asked him to repeat himself: Tune in or fuck off.

Editor: It’s like crack cocaine for fruit lovers, but a lot cheaper – 18 for a pound. Maybe that’s where the old NHS’s drug programme is going wrong, fucking get them off the drugs and on to satsumas.

Reporter: Has anyone ever been awarded a sainthood while they were alive?
Editor: Only that Canon dude, but he was dead.

Editor1: What the hell are you doing?
Editor2: I’m just sat here dressed as Santa, I don’t see any cause for alarm.

Editor1: I should have been a singer.
Editor2: Yeah you could have been in a new five-piece boyband called Twat.

Editor commenting on writing in a colleague’s birthday card: I had to write really big cause there’s no staff left.

Editor discussing the Christmas decorations: I think we’ve lost a few bits.
Reporter: Yeah, from your heads.

Editor: Aww don’t be nasty about little [colleague], I know he’s a moron but he’s our moron.

Editor looking through an agenda: Not this fucking meeting again. Making everything fucking count. Go fuck yourself.
Reporter to colleague: It’s alright, he’s going through a breakdown. I expect him to be shampooing dogs by the end of the day.

Reporter picking up editor’s gloves: I’m going to rub these against my genitals.

Vintage goodies – a new dress, cape and jacket.

So these purchases are a little old now, I’ve probably had them for about a month. But my camera’s given up the ghost and I’ve managed to lose the cable for my phone somewhere so it’s taken me ages to get them on the computer. Apologies for the shoddy quality of these but I wanted to show you!

I love, love, love the pattern of this dress. It feels so autumnal as soon as I put it on! I’ve worn it a few times and tend to wear it in the same way – with my brown Primark riding boots, sometimes a tan belt, big earrings and my hair up. It’s just so easy to wear and was in the sale at Cow so I got it for a massive bargain.

I thought this was the perfect jacket for work with its cute collar, buttons and houndstooth pattern. So far I’ve only worn it once but I reckon I’ll get tonnes more use out of it in the spring when it’s warm enough to just wear this over a little dress. Check out Dammit Janet here.

And finally! This is Sherlock my beautiful cape. Again, apologies for the absolutely shoddy quality but it’s a dark green and black pattern with flecks of lighter colours through. I absolutely fell in love with it and as soon as I had it on I knew it had to be mine. It goes so well with my boots and I know it’s something I will keep for years and years. So beauts. The death of Facebook?

When I was a nipper, the place to be seen was Myspace. Do you remember that? When you’d post a bulletin round to invite people to things? When you’d fill in about a hundred quizzes every day? When you felt like the don once you’d learned how to do all the coding so you could spend hours perfecting your profile? When you’d hear about music way before it was in the charts cause all the cool bands were on Myspace?

Back then Facebook was for people at uni really (and let’s not even talk about Bebo…) and then gradually everyone thought they’d give Facebook a go (no idea when I joined but I’m guessing it must have been about 2006/2007?) I remember convincing people to try Facebook and then everyone ended up loving it so much no one uses their Myspace anymore.

And then of course came the beast: Twitter. I joined in March ’09 but hardly any of my friends are on there yet. But it’s becoming so big now, will everyone eventually forget about Facebook and leave Mark Zuckerberg sobbing into a tissue (probably a tissue made of 50 dollar notes but still a tissue all the same)?

I’m simply posing the question and don’t really have an answer to this myself but I guess I’ll probably stay on Facebook until they do the following: allow you to create easily accessible photo albums on Twitter…okay I actually drew a blank after that one? Maybe my love affair with FB is not so great after all. Maybe I will withdraw to Twitter where it’s fine to post multiple times a day/hour. That is until they create the next big social networking thing…

X Factor – counting down from nine…

Okay so the good:

– Johnny. I know it’s all a bit cabaret and last night’s performance wasn’t amazing but I absolutely love him to bits. He seems like he’s just enjoying every second and is genuinely humbled by the support out there for him. He was deffo at his best last week doing the jazz number.

– Mischa. She’s a massive bully (allegedly) and steps out each week wearing outfits fashioned out of old Quality Street wrappers (apart from this week where she basically became Tina Turner). But no one can deny she puts on a good show. I think she’ll win in all honesty or at least reach the final.

– Craig. Loved the biscuit boy from his first audition, Heaven last night was lovely and I think he’ll also be in the final joined by…

– Marcus. Loved him doing Reet Petite last night! I just think he’s lovely.

– Kitty. I felt a slight bit of vom in my mouth for putting Kitty in the ‘good’ category. I’m trying really hard to hate her performances, honestly I am. But as annoying as she is off-stage there’s really something about her.

– Little Mix. They’re cute. Loved the doll routine last week. The blonde one’s a really good singer.

The bad:

– Janet. I quite liked her at the start but god it’s all gone a bit downhill from there. All a bit samey, all a bit boring, all a bit let’s go and put the kettle on while she’s on. Her hair did look nice last night though, I’ll give her that one.

– The Risk. Just not a fan, plain and simple.

And the ugly:

– Frankie.  Someone needs to wash the boy. And kick him out of the competition. Who are these girls who are falling for his ‘charms’? Whoever they are, someone better be handed out STI tests to them.

Quotes 26.

Editor: You’re a lovely retard you are.

Photographer editing a picture: Right I’ll sharpen this but try not to sharpen her facial hair.

Photographer: Why are they called hookers?
Editor: Because they hook you in…with their fannies.

Editor: I’ll be honest, I’m not trained to deal with epileptic fits. I’d just kick them in the face and tell them to stop pissing about.

Editor: I broke a girl’s collar bone once.

Editor on the phone: Who is it? Age Concern? Oh god I’m not that old yet.

Editor in his 20s: Britney Spears is 30 and has two kids, it’s like life is giving me reminders I’m going to die any day now.

Editor: I’ve read in the Daily Mail having cake off a rapist is not good.

Editor on phone: Have you got any jpegs of the bear?

Editor: When’s National Curry week?
Reporter: When’s National Shut the Fuck up week?

Reporter: You can have a night out in Asda.

Editor: This bird’s beaten cancer. I’m pleased for you bab but you’re from Bromford.

Editor: I love the Black Country Museum, my favourite bit’s the chip shop.

My last few weeks <3

In the past few weeks I’ve been so busy I haven’t really had any time for blogging, promise to try and be a bit better about it in the run-up to Christmas! I can’t believe it’s so close now but am enjoying being in my jumpers, cardies, thick woolly socks, fur coats and boots. Dressing for colder weather is definitely much more fun 🙂 I’m also enjoying a bit more of an autumnal palette with a lot of browns and purples and even a few oranges sneaking in to my wardrobe.

In terms of activities I’ve been really busy at work but have also been playing hard too, lots of nights out with my friends both here and back home – my liver has been paying the price and also my head at some points! But it’s definitely been worth it!

I’ve not bought a lot but have got myself some new rings and a couple of other bits this weekend so no doubt there will be pictures of those up here soon!
